How Are You Feeling About the Economy Now?

October is a big month for us, given our 10% Alumni Early Booking Discount. We in the office talk to hundreds of our alumni during October by phone and email. This past month, we heard over and over not necessarily that the economy was hitting you, our alumni, hard but that you were cautious as to what the economic downturn might bring.

Last night we elected a new President who promises Change and Hope. We try to avoid political talk on our tours. Whether you voted for Obama or McCain, does the impending change make you feel any better about your economic situation and your ability to travel? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Given the plummeting down market over the past 2 days, I would say no! Obama has much to do and the repair of the economy is going to take a LONG time. He is going into the presidency with basically a disaster already playing out and I'm sure there will be those quick to blame when the economy doesn't turn around on 1/20/09! It's going to take time for the housing market to rebound, for the global market to "normalize", and for jobs to open up, among numerous other issues. Obama's choice for top economic positions will be paramount. On that note, as I watch my 401k dwindle, my travel plans are still in full force, working hard deserves playing hard ........within reason!

Change is good! Life is about change. Part of going on zephyr tours for me is to challenge myself. Not just physically but also intellectually by meeting new people in new environments. It's easy to stay safe in one's own cocoon. Break out!
